The day that changed my life!

This one of my favourite narratives that I have written from this term. I think that it is an exciting piece of writing and that I had out done my self writing this narrative. Hope you enjoy!.

I will never forget our school’s production of ‘Demon vs Angel’ in 2016. Not because it was successful, but because it changed my life forever. It taught me a valuable lesson about self control and thinking before you act.

Twas the evening before the show, rehearsals, costumes and stage props organized. The director ordering the crew to freshen their act up. Lights, camera and action, cue the music, smoke coming in and Alice…...fly, steady the rope Ally!!”.

Yup you guessed it Alice Warnell, lead actor, lead cheerleader and leader of the Pinkies and oh she’s also my sister. Oh by the way i’m the rope girl Ally, the one in charge of holding Alice up while she’s flying so she doesn’t plummet to her death, not really but just to prevent her pretty little face from getting hurt. Having an older, more popular and a more liked sister is hard work, it’s hard to stand out when the spotlight is always on her.

Alice hovered in the air gracefully“Devils in the night shall be damned….urrgh!, Ally hold the rope properly!, DO YOU WANT TO KILL ME!”.
Ally murmured under breath”Maybe I do”.
What was that!?, you know what i’m done for the night, good luck for tomorrow!”. Alice stormed out of the auditorium as everyone eyes followed her until their eyes shot bullets at her innocent face. The directors face was full of anguish “Ok guys let’s wrap up for the night, Ally please work on your rope holding”.
Ally’s head thumped down, “what does that even mean?”.

On the day of the show all eyes were on Ally. The fate of Alice’s life was in Ally’s hands, so was the fate of the production. During the other rehearsals, Ally was so caught up in dropping her sister that she started dropping anything that she carried around, that was how worried she was.
Have you ever had the guilty feeling in your stomach even though you haven't done anything…..yet. Well today’s my day, horrible and accident prone day.

It was just ten minutes till the production started. Ally had never felt nervous in her life. Half an hour passed and it was time to get Alice hovering in the air. Ally creeped behind the stage to where Alice was standing with a harness around her waist. Alice narrowed her eyes to where Ally was standing,”you better not drop me you turd, consider this your final warning and well don’t be jealous of me it’s killing my vibe”.
“Why do you always have to be a attention seeker Alice, maybe you're better off without a sister or friends because that comment was so shallow”. Alice's face felt the guilt of her words that had once more spoken out her mouth. Then she turned around about to apologize to Ally but had to fulfill her role as the Angel. Once more Alice spoke the line of her character“Devils in the night shall be damned to where they shall be and stay for the rest of their never ending lives….”. Ally held Alice's weight in her quivering, weak hands as her fingers seemed to slip slightly off the rope one at the time. “Oh no she’s gonna fall….”, Alice’s voice trailed off and the only things that came to mind was pitch black thoughts.

Yes, I blacked out unexpectedly but wait until you hear what happened next. It was so unexpected, felt like it was a dream but in reality the consequences are worse. I didn’t mean to but it happened in a blink of an eye.
Screams and sirens rang through her ears. In sudden shock her hazel eyes flicked open and horror shone a path that led to her. All was quiet chaos, she could see in everyone's face that something horrifying happened and all fingers where pointed to her. Ally ran onto stage to see the sight of her very innocent sister lying on the stage floor not moving a muscle. Just a few meters away the director stood in a shock and so did the audience. Ally quickly ran to Alice. Tears ran down her face that dropped repeatedly on top of Alice’s nose and created a puddle on her eyes. The sirens Ally heard got louder and closer. It was a matter  of time before the ambulance reached the auditorium and it was a matter of time before everyone knew the truth.

Surprisingly, everything was filed as an accident. But sadly her trust between Alice wasn’t.
After that whole production Ally was to never hold or trusted with ropes, at least not with her sturdy hands. She learnt that consequences had to be payed eventually though the punishments might come in different packages. She learnt her lesson but deep inside Ally knew it was her emotions that got in the way.

I guess I deserve it right. The silent treatment, the thing that would probably bond us together. Though we might never talk it’s worth a try. She now knows it was my nervous side affect  that got in the way, and well I apologized a hundred times what more could I do to prevent us from spreading apart. She not budging at all. That was a stubborn act from me but well at least i’m the one in the spotlight, a very rather shattered light.
