Letter from brother✨

Today, my family and I received a letter from my older brother, Mateaki, who went on a three week course down in Palmerston North. The letter was very sentimental, I really miss my brother very much. A paragraph that he wrote stated that he missed us all dearly and that he was enjoying the trip though it was quite cold. It's been about a week and two days since he left, one more week and five more days. It was sweet of my brother to write it from a long distance, which left most of us in tears.

I also miss my brother very much and hope he'll come back strong and healthy. The course that he went on is to challenge him physically in various situations. I heard that it is a very tough course, and I wish him all the best!.

Camp letter

Friday 2 June 2017

To whom this may concern,

My name is Luisa, and I attend Glenbrae school, presently, I am a year 8 student. Glenbrae school may be a small one, but along with it comes lovely, athletic and active students. At glenbrae school we learn constantly to rise to the highest standards, we have rangimarie rules and we are also a mixture of pacific cultures.

The year 7 and 8’s at my school are planning a camp to Russell.  The students are very excited about this trip, they want to experience a lot more things, bond with each other and for some, it would be their first time camping or going out of Auckland. I know for sure it would be a first for me, which is why I want this camp to succeed.

We are searching for sponsors for our camp, and we are currently fundraising to make this camp possible. Glenbrae school is not the wealthiest school in Auckland, which is why we would appreciate all the support you can offer to us. Having sponsors will give us a higher chance of getting the accurate amount of money needed for camp.

This camp is an extensive part of our learning, where our students get to extend their learning on the history of New Zealand visually, our survival skills escalate and where we learn how to work efficiently as a team. Personally, camp for me will expand my relations with everyone, test my skills in group activities and enhance my knowledge on New Zealand history.

If you are willing to sponsor Glenbrae school, these are the resources we would need to ensure that our camp is a success. Whether it is money,  food donations or anything relevant to camp, we will be extremely pleased and grateful.

Please acknowledge my request
Sincerely yours,
Luisa

Media Team Application Letter

The Deputy Principal
103 leybourne Circle
Glenbrae school
Glen Innes
Auckland

Dear Mrs.Raj

Firstly,
I am writing to you to apply for the position of being in the media team for the following reasons. I was once a Media team monitor. I know what to do as a Media team monitor, how to take proper photos and how to make movies. Though I do not know how to make voice overs and how to set up the av set in the hall, I am hoping that I will get the opportunity to learn how to do these things. I want to expand and adapt my learning on Technology. Being a media team monitor will be great in my application to the college I will be applying. I have a lot of skills which can come in handy for in making movies. You can rely on me to take on important jobs and to take magnificent photos and videos for the school newspaper or class and individual blogs. Becoming a Media monitor will develop my skills in photography, videography and movie making, skills that will come in handy in my “resume” in college (college application).

It would mean the absolute world to me if I become one of the Media monitors. Thank you very much Mrs. Raj for giving me this opportunity to apply for this position.

Sincerely yours, Luisa

House Leaser Application Letter

The Principle
103 leybourne Circle
Glenbrae school
Glen Innes
Auckland

Dear Miss.Elia

I want to apply for the role of Kauri house captain for the following reasons, I already have experience with this role for I was once a house captain, vice captain to be precise but in this being, I want to take the next step and take on the major house captain role.  Because of this, I already know the expectations of being a captain and being able to talk confidently towards the students and little children. I am an active student, I am willing to take on challenges and opportunities which are given to me. Enthusiasm is an extensive part of being a house captain, not only does being enthusiastic capture the attention of your crowd but it shows how confident you are, in your actions and words. I am capable of being an enthusiastic leader, in our house meetings, house chants and sport involved events at school. I am also very responsible and reliable, you can rely on me to keep my team under control. Though being a house captain is mainly about being confident, calm, in control, there is more to being a leader. In school sport events, the house captains should influence the children to play fairly, try their best and work together as a team. I ensure you I will be a great influence, an exceptional leader and role model. I think that I will be an excellent sportsman as well as a house captain, speaking of excellent, I have a  brand new chant in store for Kauri, whether I get the role or not, I will still share my idea. Lastly, I guarantee you Miss. Elia, that as the Kauri house captain I will lead the mighty Kauri house to victory!.

I hope I have persuaded you to select me, Luisa Maasi, to become the new Kauri House captain for 2017. I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to apply for this position. Getting this role would mean the world to me and it will help me  in being more confident. Thank you very much

Sincerely yours, Luisa

Why I want to be School Ambassador Letter

I was selected to compete for the role of Manaikalani Glen brae school ambassador, I and 2 other students(Cherise, Aaliyahna). We were instructed to come up with ideas on how to present information on Pollution, and we were also told to create a letter to Miss. Elia and Mrs .Raj giving reasons why we want to be school ambassador. Here is the letter I had written.

From Luisa(Got to be cyber smart)

28 February.2017

The Principal
Glenbrae School

Dear Miss Elia/Mrs.Raj, I would like to thank you for selecting me to compete for the role of the Manaiakalani ambassador of Glenbrae school. I would love to be the school ambassador for the following reasons, being ambassador gives me a strong reputation which I would need when I attend college.  I believe that this role will open more opportunities and leader roles for me in college, if and when my school teachers learn that I was once an ambassador. This makes things easier for me in college, it would be like having a good resume. If you haven't heard already, Levi R, who was once a school ambassador at Glenbrae school, was offered the role of year 9 ambassador at Tamaki college.  The reason for this was because of his performance last year as school ambassador (His words). This influenced me to work even harder to be school ambassador.

I want to follow in my older sister’s footsteps and become the school ambassador to impress them as well as making them even more proud(Same goes with the rest of my family and principal, as well as my past teachers too, yes! you too Mrs. Raj). Over the years I have watched my older sisters take on important school roles such as school prefect. If I ever want to be a prefect, I would like to start off as an ambassador and carry on from there. I want to prove to my sisters that I am capable of receiving a role such as this. Coming from a family of 13, it is quite hard to grab my parents attention when my other siblings are keeping them busy. I know that when and if I get this special opportunity, I am going to be the centre of attention, which is probably gonna last a week or so but at least the spotlight will be on little old me;).

Being Ambassador gives me an opportunity to get involved in different types of work and develop my skills I have already as well as gain new ones. If I become school ambassador I will gain skills such as
  • Public speaking
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Team work
  • Networking
I know already that I am an expert (Not quite at that level)at public speaking, working together with other people, networking and communication skills. Though there is still much more for me to learn, which I am hoping that being a school ambassador will accomplish for me.

Last but not least I would like to be school ambassador because I would become a more better influence to those in school, home and other schools as well. It would give me an good outlook from others, from the littlest of children to students/teachers and other adults. Being a good influence means as much to me then it is to be a school ambassador, just kidding both would mean the world to me. Though I know that I am already a good influence but I just want to expand my learning and skills to become an even greater influence.

I am going to commit to this role and work very hard to represent my school. I will work continuously and willingly to finish my projects and presentations that I would be working on to present, that is if I receive the role. Even if I do not receive the role of school ambassador, I am going support who ever it is representing our school and continue to work very hard on my presentations. If I were to become school ambassador it would be a deeply rewarding opportunity, it would mean the world to me if I become school ambassador. I hope i’ve shared enough information on why I want to be the Glenbrae school ambassador and convinced you that I am fit for this role. I support and agree to whoever you guys choose as school ambassador.

Sincere Regards, Luisa

All about me

Hi my name is Luisa Maasi and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone in the class as well as Miss.Stone and Mrs.Tofa.

I was named after my Dad’s mum who sadly passed on. I live with twelve annoying but caring siblings and my wonderful parents. Usually in my quality time I like to read books and sometimes play rugby or touch with my older brothers. My favourite subjects at school are Writing and P.E.

For me a good day is learning quietly without being distracted by others and spending the day without any negativity. Also for everyone to encourage each other in trying new activities and to just show respect at all times.

I love to watch movies, play sports and read all types of books. My favourite movie genre is Horror. My favourite horror movie is Demonic which is about teenagers who try to contact spirits in a haunted house.

Sports have been part of me since, well forever. I play all kinds of sports Soccer, Netball, Basketball, Rugby, Touch, League, Athletic events and even Football(kinda). I have even considered that I might want to become a professional athlete when i’m older.

But my most favourite thing of all is reading. Books have inspired me to take risks in my writing as well as making my writing creative. My favourite book is  Night World which is actually three books in one and is a thriller and romance type of book. It is by far my favourite book because they have three of my favourite fictional characters Vampires, Werewolves and Witches.

When it comes to insects and reptiles there’s no guarantee what I would do to get them away from me. Insects or I like to say creepy crawlies freak me out alot because the way they look. I also dislike all dangerous reptiles, especially crocodiles, alligators and snakes.

There are times where I wish I was the only child but most of the time it’s just the
opposite . My family is so big that I often forget their names and just yell random names out(“Jimmy, Helen, Jeff wait I know RON!”, It’s not just me though). But having a lot of siblings is worth it because they’re fun to play with, soon the older ones are going to be able to get their driver license, they crack the funniest jokes and because they are the most caring people I have ever met(Plus when my older siblings get their driver's license, they could drive me wherever I want). Without my siblings I wouldn’t have a role model to look up to or an older sibling to take care of me. Having siblings and two wonderful parents have been the best thing in life for me.

Writing down all these specific information about myself surprised me because I realised that I had learnt more about myself.
