Netball P.E session

Today Room 7 had a Netball session, we played netball games with Mrs.Tofa and learnt netball skills with Miss.Ogram(Our new student teacher!).

We were split into two teams, one had to play a game of netball and the other team went with Miss.Ogram. I was in the first team with Mrs. Tofa. I played GA(Goal Attack) and C(Centre). I had loads of fun but it was quite challenging. The opposite team were very good!.

Once we had finished our game we were supposed to go have a lesson with Miss.Ogram, but the other team were in need of extra players so I and 5 other students joined in. I played Goal attack the whole time this time. I had way more fun in this game, mainly cause my team was winning. My opponent was really good!, it was quite hard to get past her but I managed to do it a couple of times. When it was time to finally go to Miss.Ogram's programme we took our bibs off and lied it neatly on the round, for the other team to put on.

Miss. Ogram taught us several passing skills, including over head pass, shoulder pass, bounce pass and the chest pass. We also learnt how to pivots. Afterwards we played Paper Scissors rock. The game was quick and fun but when it was my turn it was time for my team to play another game.

We had a quick game of Netball. The opposite team were really putting the pressure on us but we still manged to get the ball and get several goals in. I had so much fun in this game!.

i had so much fun today, because I haven't played Netball in a long time, I was quite rusty, so ou session was a good warm up for me!. I hope that we can have another Netball session like this!.

Netball season over

For the past four weeks in this term our netball girls(Yr 7&8 and Yr6) had competed against other schools in a continuous tournament every Tuesday which had started last term, and had ended this week. This week's game was our very last game for the season or tournament.

It was a very important game that we had to win, so that our winning streak(one loss) will continue on. The team that we were up against was a team called Marist. The Marist team won the first two quarters by a few points but after our talks at our breaks we caught up owning the last two quarters. All of my team mates including the Marist players had played very well, in shooting, attack and defending. At the end of our game we won the game. I'm going to miss playing Tuesday tournaments but hopefully we could play next year.

Netball Tournament🎗

Every year our school competes in an inter school tournament including girls and boys from the year levels five to eight. Our year eight and seven team had three games in the first morning blocks and had three more games in the afternoon blocks. We had games against Pt England, Glen Innes school, Tamaki Primary, Stone fields and two more schools.

All schools were amazing but the only schools we couldn't win against was Pt England and Glen Innes school. Both schools had amazing defense and shooters. At the end of the day we ended up not placing but luckily the year six's came third. Congratulations to all schools that participated and to the school who placed.

Tuesday Netball!

Today we had another netball game against ACG Parnell. Our opponents were very good at playing and had very good sportsmanship as well as my team. Our first 2 quarters were good but we let ourselves down with all our stepping and contacts. I believe that our last two quarters were our best quarters where we got more goals and handled the ball very well. I cannot wait for our next netball matches.

Tuesday Netball

This week was anther week of Netball success. Though we did make a few mistakes due to the weather condition. But at the end we ended up beating our opponents (Panmure bridge) 9 to 19. All the girls in my team were doing very well as well as our shooters, as expected. I'm looking forward for next weeks match against the ACG Parnellz. 

Special Training

To keep my sister and I fit for Netball next season, we train every day at the Marist grounds known as Dunkirk. We ran a whole length of a rugby field and walked back to the where we started. We ran 9 more times and stretched at the end.

Afterwards my sister and I played a game of touch with my brother and cousin who currently plays for the Under 15 Auckland girls rugby team. We played one more game before actually playing some Netball games and drills. The first game we played was piggy in the middle without moving when you have the ball. It was easy game until my dad came in and played for the opposite team. It was a fun game. Soon we departed from the fields as it got darker.

Having afternoon fitness's are very fun and exhausting.

Netball Success

Every Tuesday the Glenbrae yr 6,7 and 8's have Netball tournaments on Tuesdays. The past 4 weeks our yr 8/7 team have been winning almost all of our games except for one. But you know the greatest athletes didn't succeed without losing once or twice.

Well our game this week was such a success. We won against Glen Innes fantails, they brought up a great fight. Our points were 22-10. Now in the second week of the holidays my sister and I, along with 3 other girls, are going to a Netball camp for three days. More like a Netball programme. I went to this Programme last year and it was fun. But we also have a Netball tournament on the first day before school. On a Sunday, for the whole day!!.

Before we know it we are back to our Tuesday routine. I cannot wait for these exciting events.
