Summer Learning Journey- Day 13- Week 3

Day 13 – La, La, La...

Although you had a very restful day yesterday watching TV you have woken up feeling quite tired. You decide to turn on the radio and listen to some music before you get up and get on with your day. When you turn on the radio, the first song that you hear is one by Justin Bieber, a musician from Canada.

Activity 1

Justin Bieber is arguably one of the most famous musicians in the world right now. He has had (#) of Number 1 hits, including the songs:

2. Love Yourself
3. Baby

Watch the three videos. After you have finished watching them, rank them from #1 (best) to #3 (worst). On your blog, list the three videos in order from best to work and tell us why you have ranked them in that order.

The lyrics in the song are really touching and very soothing to listen to.

Rank 2#-Sorry

The song is upbeat but no really my type of vibe. Though the NZ dance group Royal Family dances in the video.

Rank 3#-Baby

I don’t really enjoy listening to this song anymore because the song is just old news.. Have you ever gotten annoyed continuously listening to a song and then afterwards you just despite it?. That how i’m feeling, no offense.

Every year there is a huge music festival held in New Plymouth, New Zealand. It is called WOMAD. WOMAD stands for ‘World of Music, Arts and Dance.’ The festival began in 1980 and there are WOMAD festivals held every year in Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Spain, Italy and The United Arab Emirates. They attract singers and performers from all around the world. Imagine that you are on the WOMAD organising committee for next year. Which two musicians/bands would you invite to perform? On your blog tell us the names of the two musicians/bands and tell us a bit about them. Where are they from? What kind of music do they play?

Three Houses Down

Because there latest hit (Love and Affection) will also be a great hit when sung at WOMAD. They are a reggae group which would add a whole new vibe to the concert. They are from Otara Auckland, NZ. Three houses down are all about the music and fans.

My second option would have to be a band out of NZ obviously to add a more spectacular vibe. I would say a band from Australia maybe, or England, Africa.

Bonus Activity

There are literally dozens of different types (‘genres’) of music in the world, including classical, rock ‘n roll, Rhythm & Blues (R&B), pop, hip hop, rap, jazz, etc. Some musicians play on their own and some play as part of a band. Arguably, the most influential band of all time is The Beatles. They were a rock band from Liverpool, England.

Dozens of movies have been made about the band. The most recent was a documentary called ‘The Beatles: 8 Days a Week – The Touring Years.’ Watch the trailer for this movie.

After you have finished, tell us two things that you learned about the Beatles from watching this trailer. They can be any two interesting facts!

• Like Paul Mccartney said, The Beatles were like a unit, they took care of each other and it had became brotherhood!
• Also that the Beatles were very popular, and then later in their careers hate washed among them. Albums and photos of them were being burnt or destroyed.

The lyric of the week is Don't let go. This song is a song I sang a lot at my old school about my vice principle. It's also touching and very catchy.

The lyric of the week today is a song that I love very much. When i'm feeling down I sing this song to my self. athe song is Lean on me by Bill Withers.

Beyonce💍Information report

My idol and inspiration, yes it is Beyonce. I chose to write about Beyonce for my information report because I had recently been researching about her for my music inquiry and because she is just really amazing.

Beyonce

Beyonce Giselle Knowles is an American singer, actress, record producer, voice actor, film director, songwriter and a model. She was born in Texas, Houston and became famous performing at local talent shows at a very young age. Beyonce was in the famous 1990s group Destiny's Child's with Kelly Rowland and Michelle William, with two more girls who dropped out of the group.

The start of Beyonce’s career

When Beyonce was quite little she had participated in talent shows and beauty pageants and won most of them, which made her famous at that time. One of her songs Beauty Hurts is based on her days of being in beauty pageants.

Beyonce started off in a group, Destiny's Child's, then expanded to become a solo artist. Beyonce teamed up with her cousin(Kelly Rowland) and two classmates forming the all star group Destiny’s Child, on 1990. Two of the original members Lativa Roberson and Letoya Luckett had dropped out of the group due to group drama. Then Destiny’s Child received a record deal on 1996 with Columbia Records. Later on they released their smash hits “Say my name” and “Bills Bills Bills”. On 2002 Beyonce had moved on from her Destiny’s Child and became an solo artist.

Albums and Songs

Beyonce has released 24 albums so far from 2002 to 2016. But there are yet more albums to come.

Beyonce was 23 years old when she released her first hit album (Dangerously In love). The year of the release was 2003, June the 24th. Beyonce has over 30 hit songs. Some of the most famous songs sung by beyonce are either about heart breaks or redeeming herself. First of all a song that she had recently released this year about her husband cheating on her(Sorry~~I ain’t sorry). And Love on top, Beauty hurts and Who runs the world (Girls).

Topic Sentence: Throughout Beyonce's singing career she has sung, cooperated and worked with many artists/actors. Some of these artists boosted her state of fame making her even popular

(Though Beyonce works with famous artists she can make it with or without their help to become famous, im my beliefs at least).

Conclusion

Beyonce had made a extraordinary start to her solo career and still maintains that level from where she started. Being able to break from a group, slowly develop in her solo career shows that Beyonce or Queen B can cope through challenges.

Ok, first things first. Lyric of the week is when I pick a song with meaningful lyrics to me and then write the lyric down.(simple). This is just aslong as we are still learning about music.
Todays song is SWV-Weak. This song is very ourspoken with a lot of words describing a certain someone??.

10 Day Challenge-2 Songs

Now I am absolutely close to finishing the 10 Day Challenge and today I will be listing my 2 favourite songs along with my 2 favourite singers.

1-My first favourite song is What do you mean by Justin Bieber. His songs are just so irresistible to listen to and are very catchy.

2-My second but last favourite song is called Chivalry is dead by Trevor Wesley. Again its a very catchy song but when you watch the dance video you can see that the dancers choreographed the moves excellently.
