Day 1~Olympic Rules~Once upon a time in Olympia

During the first Olympic games men were allowed to compete in the Olympic games. But according to a law women weren't, for a fact they weren't allowed to watch either.

In my opinion, I think this rule was wrong. I think that back then everybody should have competed together. Because women have strengths that men don't have too. It was a disrespectful act and rule for women are not slaves. But I am very grateful now for the rule has been forgotten and now every gender is allowed to compete.

Luisa I loved what you wrote about women having strength! You have articulated your point of view very well. It is very funny to think that women weren't even allowed to watch the games. Remember to tell us where you got your image from (you could do this by including a link to its original website).

Hi Luisa,

I completely agree with Ms. Stone. You have articulated your point really well and made a number of important comments. I agree with you that women have many strengths and that they should be allowed to participate alongside the men. As you say, 'thank goodness' the modern day Olympic rules have changed and both men and women can participate together!

I will look forward to reading more of your insightful blogs over the next few weeks. When you have a moment please quickly tag your image and tell us where you got it from. It's a great picture!

Cheers, Rachel
