Parco Play-Clubs

In my club, Parco play, we were supposed to carry on our play ground "blue" print but instead we did free handwriting. Which is practically just sketching.

After flicking through several images, looking for a easy but decorative sketch to draw, I found a alluring image which I loved very much. It was simple and very possible to draw. During our club, we talked, drew and at the same time we also continued our play ground work. Here is the exemplar drawing, I drew off of. Club today, was very fun!.

Term 2 clubs✨

Today after lunch, we had Glenbrae school's first clubs for 2017. Clubs, are when we have a variety of groups such as cooking groups, sewing, arts and crafts, dance, (etc). Each student in the school have to choose the club of their choice. The club I chose to be in was Modeling and Parco play.

In my club, we had to design a playground!. In my design, I had several amazing ideas, including mini trampolines in the ground, a pyramid with various obstacles, a parallel rock climbing and my favourite!, a flying fox. When we completely finish our designs, later on we are going to make little models of our playground.

I am looking forward for this part!. I had enjoyed today's session.

Clubs- Sewing Machines

Today for clubs our sewing group graduated from hand sewing to sewing on the machine.

Firstly we learnt how to insert the threads into the sewing machine. It was basic at first until we came into  the difficult parts. Which were inserting the threads into the tiny needle holes and keeping up with the instructions on how to insert the bobbin. We Learnt how to use the machine and re-thread the bobbin. ( A bobbin is a cylinder  holding thread, yarn, or wire, used especially in weaving and machine sewing).

Afterwards we practiced sewing on thin layers of fabric. Mele and I took turns straightening the threads on the edges and using the pedal. If you don't know what the pedal is for it is for making the needle go up and down threading the fabric. We practiced on a red thick fabric before using thinner fabric. Then we made the border of our fabric and continued going on. Unfortunately we did not finish in time.

Next term our group are going to be creating our scarfs. I think it would be easier using a machine but I also think it is going to be difficult. For machines have takes time to insert everything in the right place. Next term is going to be awesome!.

Clubs-Sewing

Once again we hit off the start of the week with clubs. The club that I chose was Sewing because I wanted to learn how to sew of course for special occasions.

Today's sewing sessions was learning about the different stitches. The stitches are Running stitch, Back stitch, Blanket stitch, Wip stitch and Hem stitch. Alex's mum helped for today's lesson and started of by drawing five/four lines on seven red fabrics. Afterwards we had to sew the running stitch on one line, back stitch on the other line and blanket stitch on the last line that way each stitch is straight.

My Running stitch started off great until it was time for me to change to back stitch. I found the back stitch more difficult because sadly I wasn't paying attention. But at the end I got the hang of it. During our hard sewing work, Mrs. Raj and Mrs. Changereokul  discussed our third session and pulled thoughts out on what we should create. Mrs. Raj decided that the boys should create scarfs with pockets and the girls create headbands. They also discussed on the fabric we were going to use. At the end of the day their minds were made up and it was time to pack up.

Today's session was fun and exciting. Now I've gotten better at each stitch and i'm hoping I could use them for good uses. Over the next few weeks Mrs. Raj decided that we will be soon using the sewing machine.Image result for sewingImage result for sewing
