Poets

This term we had a whole school perhaps recital but this time we are going to have a poem recital. I memorized a poem that I originally wrote based on the moari legend of how the land and sky came to be apart with little twists. Please read and enjoy.

Land and Sky

Irresistible, attached like gum and a piece of shoe
One man is green, one woman is blue
What a creation they had formed
But soon the children raged and stormed
United as will but anguish building inside
So they planned a vicious plan to separate the groom and bride

Close, irritating like a dirty old rash
Feelings were built up and feelings were outlasted
Close indeed, which they couldn’t stand
With just one touch at the tip of hand

Separated, torn like a tip of thorns
Adrenaline building on the devil with sharp horns
But soon as planned they were separated at last
And feelings of being so close disappeared so fast

Anger, doubt and grief reappeared
Soon the children’s eyes filled up with fear
As women made it storm, as man made it filthy
They became sick and no longer wilthy
No more complaints as they learned to get along
Living up close was never really wrong….

Some wonderful poetic language Luisa, full of emotion and some interesting metaphors "adrenaline building on the devil with sharp horns"
Keep writing!
