How the actions of people could help us eat more

Eating fruit and vegetables, keep you fit and healthy. People say “an apple a day, keeps the doctors away”, but it is not entirely true. Once when I was eating an apple, I actually got really sick and then I threw up.

Food manufactures

Food manufactures wrap the food in plastic to keep it fresh and they spray the vegetables with chemicals to take the bacteria off. Food manufacturers could stop putting fruit into plastic. Instead of plastic wrappers, they could pack them into a basket. I think the Food Manufacturers should make a tally of all New Zealand’s  favourite fruit and vegetables. Some people throw out their rubbish into the ocean, where fish and other sea creatures live. Once they the plastic goes through the drains and into the ocean, the fish will swallow the plastic and they will stop breathing which will be very bad.

Food distributors.

Food distributors regularly supply shops with fresh food. They transport the food from the manufacturers to the retailers. They make the food look nice and they make them smell good. They also make it healthier because so has no chance of becoming rotten. Food distributors should only transport the fruits and veggies, that kids like and that are very healthy.

Food Retailers.

Food retailers are the people who sell the food at dairy’s, school tuck shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. They decided the prices for the fruits. The problem is that sometimes the prices are really expensive so they buy cheaper food that aren't that healthy. Food retailers should lower the price for healthy food.

These are all the people who I think can make children eating healthy fruit and vegetables.

Jealousy takes over

Two bodies were found buried near a spa, where they went missing six days before. The Bodies belonged to Miss Honduras, the beauty queen and her sister. They were found near the La Guagua spa. The two women were shot to death and it seemed to the investigators that they were murdered the night they disappeared.

Sofia, one of the sisters of Miss Honduras,her boyfriend confessed to killing the sisters with another man . Sophia's mother said that they had gone out with people they haven't known for a long time.

Ruiz, Sofia’s boyfriend, Shot Sofia because, she was dancing with another man. After an argument, Ruiz pulled out a pistol and shot her. The beauty queen was shot twice at the back. They then buried the bodies near a river which was not so far away from where they were shot.

It was a hard experience for the families that were related to the girls.

The man who didn't stop looking for his daughter and ex partner

The father of a missing three-year-old whose bodys were found yesterday beside her mother says he never stopped looking for his daughter.

Mubarak Yusef, more commonly known as Pakeeza Faizal and her three-year-old daughter Juwairiyah Kalim, known as Jojo, were found at a swamp near a bus stop on Auckland's North Shore yesterday.

Jojo's father, Faizal Kalim, describes his daughter as a "bubbly little girl".

"The last thing I remember her saying to me; 'Dad, you make sure you're going to look after me'," he said. "I promised her that. And I lied, lied to her face."

Mr Kalim says he went to great lengths to find his daughter over the past seven years. He says he hired many lawyers and private detectives to find the pair, but never found any trace of them.

"I honestly don't blame anybody," he says. "I didn't do enough. I should have done more to protect my daughter."

Mr Kalim says the discovery of the bodies of his daughter and ex-partner yesterday was devastating.

"That little glimmer of hope is gone. That sort of kept me going.

"I'm … so shattered inside."

In a post to Facebook this morning, Mr Kalim asked why anyone would want to kill "an angel like that".

"I've got nothing in me," he told 3 News. "I'm not angry at anybody. It just sucked whatever life I had out of me. I've got to live with this hole inside my chest for the rest of my life."

Ms Yusef and Jojo had been reported missing until January 2013, police say.

All about me

Malo le’le I’m Luisa and I am A student at Glenbrae.

I am half Tongan and half German but only speak Tongan.

My family is special because there are thirteen of us. I have 5 five sisters plus me and eight brothers and my mum and dad. My older brothers and sisters go college at Sacret Heart and Auckland girls grammar. These are my brothers and sisters name, oldest to youngest.  Lucinda, Mary -anne, Mateaki, Sione, Siosifa, me, Sia, Viliami, Kuea, Soane, Palu, manu and Saia. My mum’s name is Nolini and My dad’s name is Sione. My dad works at a work shop called Swages and my mum stays at home looking after the three little ones. I love shopping with my family and playing games with them.

When I grow up I want to become a singer and travel to places like Washington D.C, Canada, New York and California or I will become fashion designer, designing clothes for superstars and sometimes wear my own designs. I want to go to these places because I want to see the white house and meet the president of united states also because I want to the different stuff that famous people do.

My favourite foods are Hawaiian pizza, chocolate cake and muffins. I love different kinds of fruit like pineapple, orange, banana, strawberries and apples. I like to go MacDonald and Carl's jr. My favourite ice-cream is Cookie and cream.

My favourite Sports are  Rugby league, Tennis, Netball and Basketball. I like to watch the Rugby world cup, Glasgow Commonwealth games and Olympics.

I like to watch Flash, Arrow, walking dead and Vampire Diaries. I like to watch these programmes because there is romance, drama and action.

My favourite animals are cheetahs, lions, red panda, penguins and polar bears. I like all these animals because they are all cute and are all unique.

What makes me unique is that i'm a weird in a funny. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to books which is different from other girls. I was told that i have a feminine voice and I have a conection with ice creams which is weird.

Luisa's Powhiri

Powhiri

Hello! I’m Luisa and I’m going to tell you about the special event that occurred this morning at our school, Glenbrae Primary in Glen Innes.  

When I first arrived at school, there was a sausage sizzle but I didn’t feel like eating because I ate at home, so I ran to  room   7 to put my bag away before lining up to set ourselves in the hall. By the time I reached the classroom I was exhausted and I was panting like a dog

Once the bell went we had to go to the hall. As we were lining up I felt excited to see the Mayor Len Brown and Dr.Nick Smith the minister of Conservation and Minister of Housing. It took a while to enter the hall but finally all the classes in front of us entered and sat down on the side of the hall. Then the Kapa haka did their performance and Hemi’s mum welcomed the guests inside and the guests sat on chairs.

First of all there were two elderly men and one man stood up and he said a speech and prayed in Maori. When he finished the other man stood up and spoke in Tongan and then he spoke to the mayor about the problems that the  families at Glenbrae were having to move to other houses because they are rebuilding the houses and they sometimes destroy the homes to makes space to build other homes.

After that they went outside to do the sod turning. Sod turning when they dig up the dirt and put it inside a container and they blessed the land.

After the powhiri we went back to class and there was another surprise. The surprise was lollies and  a balloon we had a little play of volleyball with a balloon but then  the bell rang for learning.

Report About Penguins

Penguins are a member of the bird family.

Penguins have two feet and wings. Some penguins have yellow chests and orange beaks and small penguins have hairy eyebrows. Other small  penguins are fluffy and cute.

Penguins live on small Islands and live near the Sea and ocean so they can hunt for food. They also live in Antarctica, New Zealand, Peru and Argentina. Most penguins live in cold places.

Penguins are very strong swimmers and are good at hunting fish. Penguins sometimes slide  on their tummies so they can move around faster and don’t need to waddle around. Penguins can stay underwater for up to 18 minutes.

Penguins are carnivores, so they eat fish like Silverfish, Lanternfish and Mullets. They also eat  Crustaceans, krill, squid and octopuses .

Lots of birds can not live in cold and icy places but penguins can. They have found a way to survive the freezing conditions.
