Potato Hypothesis!

Today we are doing a experiment checking whether a potato will grow towards the light or normally in a dark box with a hole. I think that potato will not grow at all because I think that the potato will need a lot more light for it to grow.

MRS.GREN

For inquiry we had to choose something that lives and represents Mrs.Gren. If you're thinking what is Mrs.Gren is, well Mrs.Gren is not a person but a acronym. Mrs.Gren stands for Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion and Nutrition.

Family Feast Time!

The holidays are fun weeks off for the teachers, most parents and the students. My holidays went past fast and now I wished that I had done my homework, oops.

The most exciting event that took place in the holidays was our big feast with my closest relatives. We started off by cooking the very rather sinister pig in our backyard, meanwhile we plugged in our speaker and blasted some songs. Later on, my sisters and I helped our mum cook the rest of the food which was Potato salad, Lu, Ota Ika and some Taro. I set the table up with the forks, plates and the large supply of drinks.

Afterwards, the food was all ready smelling  delicious with a bunch of scents. We gathered around the dining table to take a family photo before digging in. Then we did grace and ate. I would recommend everyone to try these foods, therefore you would need to follow the step correctly to get the right taster. My favourite thing about the feast was eating and getting to see my relatives.

To be honest the rest of my holiday was such a blur. Most of my holidays were just at home. At the same time I wasn’t ready to go to school, but ready to see my friends.

Term 1 Reflection

This term was such a bumpy train ride. Full of up's and downs.

This term I found the work we were provided very challenging and interesting. My favorite experience was getting to know each of my fellow class mates. Though it was the hardest experience I have ever had, I got used to hanging around them.

This term I achieved last years goal of going above the national standard in writing, which is 4P. In maths I got fonder of using various strategy to solve multiplication, division and decimals problems. Also this term I joined the softball inter school team which was also one of my goals, to join every inter school sport available. Luckily our softball team cooperated together to beat the other team and with that team work came 3rd place.

This term was very surprising. I found that I can be myself around my classmates and now I feel that way, I feel very confident. Now all I need to improve on is my reading and maths as well as my behavior. I am looking forward for the rest of the year and now I know  the train tracks are going to be bumpier.

Space

W.A.L.T , learn the right way to structure our description writing.

A never ending space, out of this world. Where there’s nothing but darkness and sparkles of light. If you get lost there’s no telling where you end up, maybe you’ll get sucked into a disintegrating black hole.

Just imagine being in a floating machine, soaring through the universe. Bright stars passing by shimmering brightly in the night sky, flashing and flickering in various colours. But wait that’s not all, all the planets glistening with elegant colours, standing out astonishingly. There are more than one universe, one more beautiful than the other.

If you think that’s exciting, wait until you check out our hovering ship. Leather surroundings and various buttons, just eager to try all of them. With one push on one button, all is weightless with no force pulling you down. Hovering free in the air, floating with grace, gliding with such peacefulness. Zooming rapidly though the universe, passing by astonishing views filled with colour and all types of shapes. Outside our universe our more worlds, where there are replicas of our planet somewhere out in the dark consuming space of wilderness.

There’s only one livable planet that comes to mind. A place very familiar, which is very divine. A place full of all colours and living sources. Yes, you guessed it, the one and only Earth. Not only are we the only livable planet, we are filled with large amount of land with water surrounding the land. With beautiful colours, mostly blue and green. But the best thing that comes with this planet, is the civilized animals who rule among the earth.
